Ryan Gainer, a 15-year-old autistic boy, was fatally shot by sheriff’s deputies at his home on March 9, 2024, despite prior notification by his cousin that the situation had already been resolved.
This tragic incident occurred within 5 seconds of the deputies' arrival, without any attempt to engage Ryan verbally or to utilize alternative methods such as tasers or pepper spray.
