D’VONTAYE MITCHELL
Milwaukee, Wisconsin — On June 30, 2024, D'Vontaye Mitchell, a 43-year-old Black man, tragically died after being restrained by security guards at a hotel, where he was accused of causing a disturbance.
The hotel has since terminated the employment of the guards involved, and the incident is now being investigated as a homicide. D'Vontaye was widely recognized as a kind-hearted individual, always willing to help others in need.
D’Vontaye Mitchell was his mother’s “big teddy bear,” who enjoyed music, cooking and art, and was a beloved brother, uncle and father of two.
